Artificial intelligence: the technology of the future that already exists and revolutionizes the world of work

The second edition of the event organized by the nation, which took place at Malba, showed what is coming in the field, but also, and mainly, everything that is underway

Increase the certainty of a medical diagnosis. Access to linguistic translators who execute your task in real time. Or, in the field, use technology to use information to manage natural resources more efficiently. These are just a few examples of how artificial intelligence works to streamline and enhance the way humans live, produce and work.

This was the focus of the second edition of the event organized by La Nacion and held on December 11 at the Malba auditorium. There, specialists in this technology who work both in startups and in large local and international companies explained how they implement it and what impact it has on their business and, above all, on society.

After the presentation of José Del Rio, general secretary of the newspaper's Editorial Office, the first speaker of the morning, Carlos Forlenza, explained how this technology is already revolutionizing transport services. Forlenza is Director of Digitization at Deutsche Bahn, the German transport company, and works as an advisor to Metrovías in the tender for the digitization of the Buenos Aires City Subway.

In his presentation, the specialist presented Semmi, the robot already operating at Berlin Central Station. Semmi is a kind of digital bust created by the German company to improve the quality and speed of the information service. Forlenza explained that one of the crucial points of the service is in the information. "At the stations we have long queues to provide information and we look for alternatives," he said. In this way, Semmi provides simpler information and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while collaborators can focus on providing information and solving more complex problems.

Forlenza also showed the organization chart of Deutsche Bahn and highlighted that it is a company of more than 300,000 employees in which between 3,000 and 4,000 are dedicated to digital work and innovation and exploration projects. "We invest in development, but also in exploration. We work a lot with academia and with state research institutions," the expert highlighted.
