  • Aston Martin announced it will release 25 limited edition DB5 cars, first featured in the James Bond film Goldfinger.
  • Each revamped DB5 comes with a hefty price tag: about $3.5 million.
  • The cars feature all the iconic Bond gadgets, including the circular radar screen, a water-spewing oil-slick, and a bullet-resistant rear shield.

Aston Martin is taking one of its most iconic designs for another spin. The renowned English automaker announced the release of 25 limited edition DB5s—the famed vehicle first driven by James Bond in the 1964 film Goldfinger. The car, which also appeared in the 1965 Bond flick Thunderball, is known for its slick design and impressive suite of gadgets.

It's been 55 years since the first DB5 rolled off the production line. For the 2020 reboot of the vehicle, Aston Martin turned to Chris Corbould, a real-life Q and special effects supervisor who has worked on dozens of Bond films. The new DB5 has all of the clandestine features Bond fans know and love.
