What is the technological advance that you appreciate the most about your car?

Navigation system, rear view camera, blind spot warning… Dealers play a key role in how drivers use the new technologies in their cars. This is one of the conclusions of the study on interaction with new technologies by drivers in the first three months of possession of their vehicle, prepared by the company J.D. Power and which has been echoed by Faconauto (Federation of Automotive Dealers Associations).

Specifically, a good explanation of its use by the dealer at the time of delivery of the vehicle makes the level of satisfaction with these advances between 24 and 54 points higher. Moreover, in many cases, that role of the concession makes the difference between using or not using the technology that incorporates the car.

According to the authors of the study, the long processes of development of these advances penalize them before the drivers. "In many cases, the system works as the engineers and designers had planned, but expectations change quickly," says Kristin Kolodge of J.D. Power, referring to the fact that, in many cases, when an advance reaches our cars, they no longer fully respond to the driver's needs.

The company J.D. Power asked 17,864 new car buyers to rate the technology capabilities of their vehicles. These technologies were used by practically all of the respondents.

The worst rated advance was the navigation system, with 687 points out of 1,000. In many cases, drivers noted that they used another device because they did not like the one in the car.
